Into the Rust Belt

We are so happy to have you here. You may be wondering what this little booklet is. I’ll tell you. This thing is meant to be an unofficial supplement for the really-very-good role-playing game Electric Bastionland by Chris McDowall. This book is in no way endorsed by, associated with, read by, or enjoyed by Mr. McDowall or anyone else for that matter.

If you’ve found yourself playing Electric Bastionland and thought to yourself “I’d love to take this party to some gross town in the middle of the USA,” this might be the thing for you.

In order to use it, you will need a few things:

1. A copy of the Electric Bastionland RPG. There is an official free version of the rules online, but I would really encourage you to pay for the full version. It’s really very good. (https://chrismcdee.itch.io/electric-bastionland)

2. A standard set of dice.

3. A pen and some paper.

4. A case of Genesee, Utica Club, Miller High Life, Yuengling, or some of American lager manufactured in the old industrial heartland of the USA.

This booklet provides a few things:

• Some Rust Belt inspiration.

• 6 very rusty failed careers.

• Rumors at the dive bar.

• Advice for creating a Rust Belt city, including seven location types with encounter tables.

• Critters and weirdos to interact with.

• Some other weird stuff.
